Community Standards
Welcome to Treasure Valley Gamers! Our mission is to provide a welcoming, inclusive, and fun environment for TTRPG and tabletop players of all backgrounds. To ensure our community remains a great place for everyone, all members and event hosts are expected to adhere to the following standards:
Respect and Inclusivity
Be Kind and Tolerant: We expect all members to treat one another with respect, empathy, and dignity. Harassment, discrimination, or hate speech of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes both other members and anyone else we run into during our events and in online discussions.
Let People Like What They Like: Respect other people’s hobbies and interests. Not every game, system, or activity is for everyone. Avoid trash-talking or gatekeeping; let people enjoy what they love.
Event Guidelines
Keep Public Spaces PG-13: All public posts, discussions, and main event listings should remain Safe-For-Work (SFW) and welcoming to a general audience. We've got kids in the groups, and people that just like to keep it low-key. Be respectful!
Mature Content Warnings: Private games and campaigns may include mature themes, though we expect all participants to be informed and have explicitly agreed beforehand. Any event containing adult or age-inappropriate content must be clearly flagged as such and held in an appropriate venue.
Commercial Activity and Paid Events
No Commercial Exploitation: Members may not sell products, promote personal businesses, or run paid events using the TVG name, brand, or website without explicit, prior approval from the admins. Unsolicited commercial messaging or spamming will result in an immediate ban.
Free-to-Play Campaigns: All community-posted campaigns and events must be free for players to attend. Advertising for-profit or paid campaigns is prohibited on our platform; please use external sites dedicated to paid GMing for those events.
Non-Profit & Crowdfunded Events: Events that require a fee to participate are permitted only if 100% of the collected funds go directly toward funding the event itself (Examples include splitting the cost of a venue rental, buying prizes for an event, or paying for a pizza party). No portion of the funds may be kept as profit or compensation for organizers or attendees.
Tips and Gratuities: Gamemasters displaying optional cash-app "tip jars" (such as PayPal or Venmo) or requesting voluntary tips for their time and effort is permitted, provided it remains strictly optional and does not gatekeep participation. When tipping, be careful. TVG is not responsible for private, peer-to-peer financial transactions.
No Endorsements: Unless explicitly stated otherwise, TVG does not endorse any advertisements, products, or external services posted by members. Please report any unethical behavior or suspicious promotions to the moderation team immediately.
Reporting and Enforcement
Reporting: If you witness or experience behavior that violates these standards, please report it immediately to the Admins via the email or anonymous feedback form on the About page. All reports will be handled confidentially.
Good Faith Participation: Do not attempt to find loopholes in these guidelines, and don't try to argue your right to be a jerk. The moderation team reserves the right to remove content or members acting against the spirit of the community. Be cool.
Violations may result in warnings, removal from events, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the community at the sole discretion of the admins.
