Who We Are

Treasure Valley Gamers (TVG) is a community designed to help people meet, learn games, and socialize. We are hundreds of players and game runners, each carving out a welcoming space of their own to express their creativity. We primarily do this through tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs), although we really support any kind of gaming hangout or social gathering.

We are a not-for-profit community made up of volunteers passionate about the hobby. Over the decade-plus we've been running games, more than 90% of our events have been completely free to participate in. We firmly believe community shouldn't be a grift or a side-hustle, so we focus on creating open, accessible events in local third spaces that everyone can freely participate in.

What We Do

We run regular game nights and social gatherings in public spaces, offering a low-stakes environment for people to get to know each other. We use these events to teach people how to play games, with a variety of friendly people who want to help you learn how to play new game systems or even run games yourself for your friend group.

In addition to official events run by the organizers for the entire group, our members can use our website, Discord, or Facebook groups to organize their own private game nights.

Our History

TVG started as a few people looking for a way to find other players across the Treasure Valley (Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Star, Kuna, Nampa, and Caldwell). We wanted to meet people and play games. So a small handful of nerds got onto social media and started posting events to do just that.

It turns out, a lot of other people wanted the same thing.

We've run everything from massive charity events for Extra Life with hundreds of gamers to small pop-up events for random game holidays and conventions, along with our regular game nights. This has let us find so many fascinating people, and many of us have formed decades-long friendships through the group. We hope that everyone here makes new friends and becomes as excited about gaming as we are. At the very least, we hope you have a good time.
